Tree Plantation Community Service

Tree Plantation

Riviera's Traditional Tree Plantation Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Goa College of Home Science Ushering in the new Rotary year, the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera continued its 13-year tradition of planting fruit-bearing trees at the Goa College of Home Science. Rotarians, Anns, Rotaractors and faculty members planted seven fruit-bearing saplings, reaffirming the Club's commitment to environmental stewardship. President Rtn. Colleen Sequeira thanked the Institute for its enduring partnership and said the project symbolises members "rolling up their sleeves, dirtying their hands, and nurturing something that will support and comfort others for years to come." The Club thanked Environment Chair Rtn. Devki Talekar for coordinating the project and arranging the saplings, and Principal Dr. Mahesh Pai and the faculty for their hospitality and support. The project cost ₹1,000 and was attended by 11 Rotarians, 2 Anns, 10 Rotaractors and 5 faculty members. Impact: Seven fruit-bearing trees added to the campus, enhancing green cover, biodiversity and future nutritional value for students. Lives Touched: Immediate: 328 (300 students, 28 faculty & staff). Ongoing (annual): 328 beneficiaries through 2036+, with long-term environmental benefits extending to future student batches.

Official Meeting with the Consul General of Portugal

Official Meeting with the Portuguese Consul General Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Portuguese Consulate, Goa The Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, in collaboration with the Rotary Inter Country Committee (ICC) India–Portugal, organised a courtesy visit to , Consul General of Portugal in Goa. The visit introduced the ICC India–Portugal and its mission of fostering friendship and fellowship between Rotarians of the two nations. Discussions explored opportunities for youth exchange, cultural collaboration, and Global Grant projects. Her Excellency graciously hosted the delegation for a traditional Portuguese high tea, and the visiting Club Presidents presented their club flags as a symbol of international goodwill. The meeting was attended by 8 Rotary leaders representing the Rotary Clubs of Panaji Riviera, Margao Midtown, Margao, Mapusa Elegant and Ponda New Generation, with a project expenditure of ₹2,000. Impact: Strengthened international goodwill and established a foundation for future collaboration between Rotary clubs in India and Portugal through youth exchanges, cultural initiatives and humanitarian projects. Lives Touched: Immediate: 8 Rotary leaders. Ongoing (2026–27 and beyond): Potential to benefit 200+ youth and community members through future international exchanges, Global Grants and collaborative service initiatives arising from this partnership.

Blood Donation Camp Community Service

Blood Donation Camp

Coming Together for a Mega Blood Donation Camp Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Goa Housing Board Office, New Market Complex, Porvorim | Timings: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm Our Community Service Directors, Rtn. Maithili and Rtn. Sanaa, represented our Club at the Mega Blood Donation Camp held at the Goa Housing Board Office, New Market Complex, Porvorim. The joint project was led by Rotary Club of Panaji and supported by six Rotary Clubs and one Rotaract Club, coming together in a shared spirit of service for this important humanitarian cause. Participating clubs included Rotary Club of Panaji, Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, Rotary Club of Panaji Central, Rotary Club of Porvorim, Rotary Club of Parvari Blaze, Rotary Club Kadamba, and Rotaract Club of Panjim. Thank you, Rtn. Tanvi, for coordinating this District project. The camp was attended by 3 Rotarians. Impact: Strengthened Rotary’s commitment to community health by supporting voluntary blood donation and encouraging collective action for a life-saving cause. Lives Touched: Immediate: 3 Rotarians representing our Club, along with donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries connected to the camp. Ongoing (2026–27 and beyond): Patients in need of blood transfusions will benefit from the donations collected, while the initiative continues to inspire greater awareness and participation in voluntary blood donation.

13th Installation of Rotaract Club of Narayan Zantye College Champions Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim The Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera proudly witnessed the 13th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Narayan Zantye College Champions. Rtr. Kedar was installed as the 13th President along with his Board of Directors by Installation Officer Rtn. Nestor Sequeira (DS Rotaract). District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Amey Verekar delivered an inspiring orientation on Rotaract, highlighting the leadership, service and personal development opportunities available to students. President Rtn. Colleen Sequeira congratulated the new team and encouraged them to lead with purpose and create lasting impact. The project was attended by 6 Rotarians, 1 Ann, 40 Rotaractors and 7 faculty members, with a project expenditure of ₹1,000. Impact: Strengthened youth leadership by installing a new Rotaract leadership team and motivating students to actively participate in community service, professional development and fellowship throughout the Rotary year. Lives Touched: Immediate: 47 (40 Rotaractors and 7 faculty). Ongoing (2026–27): 200+ students expected to benefit through leadership development, service projects and campus engagement led by the new Rotaract board.

Careers in Finance

Careers in Finance Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim To mark National Chartered Accountants Day, the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera organised an interactive career guidance session on "Careers in Finance" for college students. Senior Chartered Accountant Hemant Ramani was the keynote speaker and shared valuable insights on career opportunities in finance, professional courses, examination pathways, college selection, and preparation strategies. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, helping students make informed career decisions. The programme benefited 112 students and was attended by 6 Rotarians, 1 Ann, and 7 faculty members, with a project expenditure of ₹1,000. Impact: Enhanced students' awareness of career opportunities in finance and equipped them with practical guidance for planning their higher education and professional journey. Lives Touched: Immediate: 119 (112 students and 7 faculty). Ongoing (2026–27): 112+ students expected to benefit through informed academic and career choices, with a multiplier effect as knowledge is shared with peers and families.

Felicitation of Doctors Date: 1 July 2026 | Venue: Urban Health Centre, Panjim On the occasion of National Doctors' Day, the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera felicitated 13 doctors of the Urban Health Centre, Panjim with a flowering plant in a ceramic planter as a token of gratitude for their dedicated service to the community. Health Officer Dr. Vidhya Parab appreciated the doctors for their unwavering commitment, while President Rtn. Colleen Sequeira thanked them for their selfless contribution towards safeguarding the health and well-being of society. The project was attended by 7 Rotarians and 1 Ann, with a project expenditure of ₹3,900. Impact: Recognised and appreciated frontline healthcare professionals, boosting morale and reinforcing Rotary's support for those serving the community's healthcare needs. Lives Touched: Immediate: 13 doctors. Ongoing (2026–27): The 13 doctors collectively continue to provide healthcare services to thousands of patients annually, creating a far-reaching and sustained community impact.
